Hey Little Girl

(Write a letter to 10yr old self.)

Hey little girl, please don’t cry

You’ll make friends one day, it’s not a lie

The world will accept you

Better than you do

Go be a singer, just get on that stage

You shouldn’t have this much anxiety at your age

All that sickness is mostly behind you now

You can relax a bit, you’re allowed

Don’t try to grow up too fast

Because these feelings of depression are going to last

They’ll be there a lifetime, you see

So enjoy being a kid, just trust me

It’s ok to be vulnerable from time to time

Some people truly do care and can be kind

But the most important advice I could give from older me

Is to spend more time with your sister, Wendy

When she’s gone you won’t be ready

And your heart will be so empty

But you’ll have good moments too

First kisses and loves will happen to you

At times you’ll hurt so bad you’ll want to die

Some of those boys will cheat and some will lie

But eventually you’ll meet the love of your life

And he’ll ask you to please be his wife

You’ll quit your job with a goal in sight

And you’ll spend your days getting paid to write
