Grudge

(Write a poem forgiving a grudge)

You were so young

Always scared

Biting your tongue

Broken and bare

Hiding behind a mask

With your head down

Afraid to ask

Socially bound

I forgive you now

Because I’m older but not yet wise

I don’t know why or how

You told me such lies

But I know you meant well

Even towards the end

As you put me through hell

I’m finally beginning to mend
